I haven’t bothered posting anything since 2011 and for that I am very ashamed and sorry. But, today, well….more like tonight, that’s all changing, and the first thing I’m posting is a plug to my awesome HTC EVO 3D ROM: freEVO 3D 2.4 featuring Beats™ audio and a Hybrid [de]Odex™ system. This is a placeholder for my debut into the Android ROM cooking world. If you’ve owned a Sprint Touch Pro2 and are familiar with my Bare Naked ROM series, then this is no different. I’m stripping as much away as I can, while still maintaining a functioning ROM.

I’ve removed as much Sense as possible, BUT there is always room for improvement. I’m constantly discovering random apps that can be removed and plan to either update with patches to do so, or just post back with my findings.

This ROM is very much stock, in that there are very few modifications applied to the framework, but I’m sure that any current mods will work just fine. In fact, I plan on keeping up with them in the form of flashable zips instead of whole new versions.

Known Issues:
-With Sense lockscreen removed, you are unable to answer calls until you unlock the screen. Your phone rings, but you don’t see who’s calling until you unlock. Prevents accidental dials. Kind of neat for privacy buffs.

[size=+2]freEVO 3D 2.4 Hybrid [De]Odex information. Please read.[/size].
2.4 marks a small shift in development. I’m now starting to include mods from other people/phones as an experiment to see if I can still maintain a stable ROM.

2.4 is different in that it utilizes my Hybrid [De]Odex method which combines the performance of an odexed ROM with the customization of a deodexed ROM. Current themes or flashable items are possible and can be compatible, provided that you understand a few things first:
-If you do decide to flash a theme, or another mod, keep in mind that by doing so, you:
–Must delete any .odex files to the apk/jar file that the mod you’re flashing includes. For example if you are flashing LeeDroid Tweaks, you’d have to know which files it is installing by examining the zip first and then go through and remove the .odex files from your current system or it won’t take effect.
–By doing this, you are slightly losing odex for every deodexed file you add.
-You’ll also risk losing the modifications I’ve made to the frameworks to remove and disable logging/checkin services, and more. Remember, flashing any mod that wasn’t ported over, or made by your ROM chef, may contain files that don’t have their particular mods in them and will be overwriting their custom ROM version with a generic stock or differently modified file. That’s why LeeDroid tweaks and beats by smokin1337 are slightly incompatible. They both include the same files, but modified differently. It’s either working LeeDroid tweaks, or beats mod with some LeeDroid tweaks features not working.

It may sound difficult at first, but it’s quite easy once you do it the first time and understand. On to the changes: It includes all of 2.3-2.3d fixes and was originally supposed to be 2.3e. However, the hybrid [de]odexed system warranted a increment increase .

There will be two versions, standard and lite:
-Standard: Includes StockMod Kernel with dual core always.
-Lite: Includes StockMod Kernel with no dual core mods. Dual cores will operate the same as they do on Stock ROMs, but the kernel will retain all of the other ramdisk edits I’ve done.

What is this you ask? It’s a ROM (software package) for the Sprint HTC EVO 3D. It’s basically a modified version of HTC’s version of Google Android 2.3.3 (Gingerbread). For those of you who don’t have an HTC EVO 3D with Sprint, this is useless, but to those who do, congratulations. You can now run this ROM and make your phone even more badass than it already is. If you know what ROMs are, then you will know how to put this on your phone. So, without further ado, here it is on XDA-Developers.com:

YOU should, if you have a 3D capable phone–which right now would include the HTC EVO 3D and the LG Optimus 3D. The 3D albums can be found in the HTC EVO 3D/qHD category as well as a standalone category. Other than that, tough shit for you! Actually, Mobile Media has gone through a few updates over the past few days. Allow me to let you in on them: I’ve added a NSFW (Not suitable for work) section, as well as NSFW sections for all current phone categories. The standalone NSFW section can be used to upload any NSFW images. These won’t include full blown pornography, but provocative and seductive images are definitely welcome. I’m hoping over the course of the next few months to figure out a final look for the site and maybe some different software to manage the expanding gallery. I’m looking into many possible solutions and I want to be sure of what I’m going to go with before I make any drastic changes. Stay tuned.

Today, user content on Mobile Media will be going live. What this means is that you will be able to upload and submit your own wallpapers to our growing gallery! You can then share your link with others and soon you will also be able to create your own personal album. Head on over to the site to register your name and begin uploading your wallpapers. Things will be changing quite a bit today, so if you notice something not working, be rest assured that it will work properly soon.

Today we’ll be launching the user content on Mobile Media. What this means is that you’ll be able to upload your own wallpapers into your own album and from there pass out the link to whoever you want. I haven’t had the time to add and modify all of the features I wanted, like automatically resizing and such, but I figured it’s time to open it up to the public. More information will come later on today.

We’re happy to announce that we’re approaching 10,000 wallpapers for your Android device. In a little under 2 months we’ve gotten this far, and have no intentions on stopping now. Creating a post from my Facebook App.

I’m currently battling an idea. This battle is very intense and the fight is straight out of Sucker Punch (movie) but it involves the idea of Music Videos (high quality) specially formatted for your Android device. They’re battling against whether or not it would be something people would want or not.

As you’re now aware, we’re off to a fantastic start this past month with over 6,800 media files for your Android device. This week brings in over 350 wallpapers for the newly released HTC EVO 3D, this also includes qHD resolutions in general. Ringtone counts have been steadily increasing with today’s freebies being:
