even though i don't have a 9-5 job.. i am at the computer a lot doing random things on here. and sitting in 1 place for hours a day isn't really good for us... soooo here are some exercises we can do just to tone up a little... or maybe we're just desperate to burn off that extra weight we gained over the holidays :P
found this on a fitness website 1 - The Shoulder Roll Roll one shoulder forwards slowly ten times and then backwards ten times. Repeat with your other shoulder. This will help your body's flexibility & keep you loosened up while typing away at an essay. 2 - The One With The Butt Okay, so everyone should know this one. If you are a beginner start off with clenching your butt muscles for five seconds, then taking a ten second break. Repeat this as many times as you find comfortable. Over time, you can do it for longer. 3 - Rubber Bands For Your Hands Now, this exercise is good for anyone who is at the computer a lot. Place a firm (but not too tight) elastic band around the middle of all four fingers & around your thumb. Slowly pull the band with your thumb away from your fingers and hold for three seconds. Repeat a few times and then swap to your other hand. 4 - Typing Arms Another exercise for those reguarly at the computer. Hold an arm straight out in front of you, with the palm facing towards the ground. Use your other hand to pull the fingers back towards you, until you feel a gentle pulling your forearm. Next, face your palm towards the ceiling and pull your fingers down to the ground. Repeat with your other arm & hand. 5 - The Head Roll Very gently & slowly roll your head in small circles, three times in each direction. If you begin to feel dizzy, please do not continue as you could cause your body damage. Try again another day. 6 - The Back Arch Place your hands on your waist and stretch your back into in arch. This will relax your muscles if you've been sitting at a desk for a while. 7 - Seat Crunches You don't have to get down on the floor to do your crunches. Suck in your stomach slightly and raise each leg slowly into your body. You should feel the muscle in your stomach working after a while. Repeat with each leg ten times & gradually do more when you get used to it. 8 - Take A Break, Have A Kit-Kat Never sit in the same place for longer than 35-45 minutes. Several researchers and surveyers have stated it is not healthy and you need to walk around. Our bodies have not been designed to sit for long amounts of time. And since you've been working yourself so hard, in more ways than one, why not treat yourself too.

I heard that as well, which is why I started doing it. I can't vouch for the effectiveness, since I do crunches as well.

well i lost like 10lbs practically starving myself because i've had some ridiculous stomach issue throwing up all the time. i almost like it if it's making me lose weight
